“The Haunted Village” set design workshop

In the weeks leading up to this event, groups will design and create 2D and 3D props and scenery with fun games based on the Halloween theme. They will feature as a treat for the audience as they enter the event. This area will be located immediately inside the main gate off Fr. Brown Ave, Groups may display a donation box for the use of games and activities.
“The Haunted Village” will have the following themed areas:

The Butchers (The Chop Shop) – BLOCK Project, Portlaoise
The Barbers/ The Salon (Hair Styling) – APA Youth Group, Portlaoise
The Bakers - Mountmellick Youth Development Centre
The Beauticians (Face Painting) – APA Youth Group, Portlaoise
The Prison (Stocks & Chains) – Youth Reach, Portlaoise
The Photographers (using email & Bluetooth) –
The Roundtower and Graveyard – Foíroige, Timahoe
The Doctors - Transition Year Group, Clonaslee Vocational
Castle Entrance Feature – National Learning Network
The Pitch – FEC Laois & Laois Youth Theatre

Halloween fun and games (Fortune Teller etc.) -
Transition Year Group, St. Fergal’s Rathdowney

Dance Workshops Over 50 young dancers from the Dunamaise Arts Centre Outreach Programme and Colaiste Iosagain’s Transition Year Programme will participate in a specially commissioned dance by professional choreographer Cathy Coughlan. Both groups have been busy rehearsing the performance entitled “Night Creepers” throughout the month of October. Prepare to be thrilled and chilled!!!

Event Management and Production Workshop. Youth work Ireland Laois an event management and production workshop which will see 20 young people develop the skills of lighting, sound and event programming required to manage an event such as Trick R Street. Under the direction of tutor John McFadden, all participants will put their newly acquired skills into practice at the Trick R Street!
